This week we're checking in with Yasmin, who manages our biggest concession space, alongside a team of four others, inside Fenwicks in Newcastle. 

7am- I finally wake up after snoozing my alarm for a good 30 minutes. First thing I do is check my phone and have a cuddle with my dog before making a move. 

8am - I walk out the door and head for the train station, bracing myself for the hectic morning commute. 

8:30am - Coffee time!! I love nothing more than enjoying a lovely coffee and pastry before work. Now I’m officially ready for the day with a good dose of caffeine. 

9am - I always start by doing a floor walk and noting any merchandising issues or anything I feel needs tweaking or changing. I usually catch up with our host stores management team first thing and discuss sales figures for the previous day. I then make a plan for the rest of the day and prioritise my task list. 

Morning - One thing I love about my job is the days are never the same and I have the freedom to structure each day in a way that suits me. I usually spend my morning serving and chatting to customers - it’s so lovely to connect with so many people who love our products. 

Lunch - Being in a department store you can sometimes feel a little cooped up so I like to get outside on my break. There’s nothing better than a bit of fresh air for an afternoon boost. I grab a coffee and some lunch and enjoy it whilst I’m walking. 

Afternoon - By this point I’m joined by another member of our team so I spend a bit of time catching up and handing over tasks. At the moment I’m supporting the PiB hiring team in recruiting for our new stores which is super exciting! I like to spend a bit of time on this in the afternoon, I particularly enjoy reading cover letters and seeing just how passionate candidates are. 

5:15 - I finish up my day by handing over to my colleague and discussing tasks for them to do on the evening. 

5:30 - Home time! I love a hearty, warming tea so I usually have pasta or a pie waiting for me when I get home. Delish!!
