Product Technologist
We are looking for an experienced Technologist to join our dynamic company within our product team to facilitate and lead on product fits, testing, fabric development, and supplier chain management. We work across multiple categories including homeware and apparel, so a wide range of experience would be beneficial. We are looking for someone who shares our enthusiasm for product and Piglet in Bed.

What you'll be doing:
- Create and contribute to product specs for suppliers including gradings
- Supports adaptation of design sheets to suit production methods
- Check pre-production samples for size, fit and quality
- Support with sourcing fabrics and trims as well as overseeing testing
- Undertake quality evaluations of materials and quality check of final product
- Respond to product queries including feedback from partners and customers. Contribute to initiatives to reduce customer returns.
- Liaise with design, buying and suppliers to offer technical guidance on new product development with the aim of reducing costs and improving quality.
- Lead supplier management in terms of certifications and audits
- Send clear, concise and accurate comments to suppliers; processing samples in a timely manner, in line with KPIs
What we're looking for:
- Must have at least 2-5 year’s experience within the industry, ideally multiple category experience or knowledge that spans homeware and apparel
- Strong understanding of manufacturing, textiles, and garment construction
- Have the ability to work alone and show leadership of area, owing the technologist area within the product team, as well as working closely with buying and design functions.
- Be able to work under tight deadlines and cope with pressure
- Have a keen interest in fashion, homeware and textiles.
- Demonstrate an understanding of pattern cutting, construction and manufacturing techniques.
- Technical knowledge gained within fast paced commercial head office or supplier environment.
- Flexible approach to be able to adjust to the constantly changing needs of the business.
- Ability to convey technical information clearly to non-technical stakeholders
- Exceptional eye for technical detail to consistently ensure the correct documentation is used and followed.
- Applied technical knowledge of fabrics and threads and textile construction.
- Highly organised with good prioritisation skills.
- Confident and clear communication skills; both verbal and written to work productively alongside other Product teams and external suppliers
