As Finance Manager, you will play a critical role in supporting the growth of our brand. You will be responsible for ensuring robust financial management, accurate reporting, and insightful analysis to enable strong decision-making. This role requires a hands-on and detail-oriented finance professional, comfortable operating in a fast-paced, evolving environment, while balancing accuracy with commercial insight. This role offers the opportunity to develop into Financial Controller as the company continues its growth journey, with scope to shape and strengthen the finance function.

Hours: Full-time
Salary: £60,000-£65,000 depending on experience
Location: Hybrid working - with 3 days per week in our London office
What you'll be getting up to
Financial Management & Reporting:
- Oversee general ledger management, ensuring all financial transactions are accurately recorded, classified, and reconciled.
- Conduct weekly and monthly balance sheet reconciliations and reviews, identifying and addressing discrepancies.
- Lead the preparation of management accounts, including detailed review vs budget and forecast.
- Deliver accurate and timely month-end and year-end closes from day one.
- Take responsibility for tax compliance, including preparation and submission of VAT returns and ensuring adherence to all relevant UK and international tax requirements.
- Review statutory accounts and tax computations prepared by external auditors.
- Support audits, consulting directly with external auditors to ensure smooth delivery.
- Support budgeting and forecasting cycles, ensuring alignment with business objectives and providing clear performance insights.
- Provide financial reports, variance analysis, and insights to senior management.
Cash & Working Capital Management:
- Manage weekly rolling cashflow forecast and working capital to support business operations and growth.
- Oversee daily cash activities, including bank balance monitoring and reconciliations.
- Ensure accurate and efficient management of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes.
Business Partnering & Strategic Support:
- Present financial insights and recommendations to leadership and non-finance stakeholders in a clear, actionable way.
- Act as a proactive problem solver, balancing detail with broader business understanding.
- Partner with leadership to evaluate investment cases, commercial opportunities, and cost-saving initiatives
Compliance & Process:
- Contribute to building strong processes and controls that scale with the business.
- Ensure robust internal controls, compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and best practice governance.
- Support the development and optimisation of finance systems to ensure scalability and efficiency
- Champion best practice in financial governance, risk management, and operational effectiveness.
Team & Culture:
- Manage, mentor, and develop a small team of two finance professionals, fostering growth and accountability.
- Operate autonomously, delivering to deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic scale-up environment.
- Foster a collaborative and solutions-focused approach across finance and non-finance teams.
Who we're looking for
- Hands-on and detail-oriented with a proactive problem-solving mindset.
- Strong technical accounting skills.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
- Strong communicator, able to partner effectively across the business.
- Comfortable working autonomously and taking ownership of deliverables.
- Multi-currency and international accounting experience (UK and US entities).
- High attention to detail with the ability to balance precision and commercial insight.
Essential:
- Professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
- Proven track record as a Finance Manager, ideally at senior level.
- Solid management accounts experience, including variance analysis and commentary.
- Experience in statutory reporting, VAT returns, and external audit processes.
- Demonstrated experience with cashflow forecasting and working capital management.
- Strong knowledge of financial systems and Excel modelling.
Preferable:
- Experience in a fast-paced, evolving environment (scale-up or retail sector desirable).
- Strong experience using Xero accounting software to manage day-to-day financial operations and reporting.
